Welcome to the home of Microcast Communications. We are a media company. We do blogs, events, webcasts, magazines, market research, custom content and other media-type stuff. We believe you must always strive to do great work and have fun in the process.
Microcast Communications was founded in September 2004 by technology media veterans Al Perlman, Gary Bolles and Mike Perkowski. We started by doing custom events for companies such as Cisco, Oracle and Hewlett-Packard. We were hired by Google to produce their partners conference. We partnered with Tech Target to moderate dozens of IT roundtables. We consulted for CompTIA.
In 2006, we began building our own media platforms. First, we partnered with Esme Vos on MuniWireless. Esme had launched MuniWireless as a blog and newsletter and we helped expand it to include conferences, research, a magazine, Webcasts, roundtables and custom media. We also launched TechIQ as a magazine and Web site aimed at the IT channel.
MuniWireless is the dominant media platform in the Municipal Wireless market. Our annual conferences reach more than 1,200 individuals, our magazine goes to more than 10,000 subscribers and our Web site is the most visited and active site in the market. TechIQ is an up-and-comer in the IT channel, serving 30,000 solutions providers.
In addition, the Microcast Custom Media business continues to grow: We continue producing Google’s partners conference and we are also working on events for Cisco, Tech Data and others. This year we also produced a 25th Anniversary Magazine for CompTIA. Our company now has 14 full-time employees and we work with more than a dozen trusted freelancers. We remain privately held.
